![]() ![]() My opinion of the series is that it gets worse as it goes on. Wells (and maybe Jules Verne? My memory fails me) and inspired to write Sci Fi, infusing his traditional ideals with sci-fi tropes and elements. In the foreword of Out of the Silent Planet Lewis basically admits to being enthralled by H.G. In my Romance and Chivalry Literature course, my professor put it really well: Lewis was trying to write Science Fiction and eventually fell back to writing Fantasy. However even the parts that I hate still resonate with me in the strangest way it's been nearly a year since I've read them and I still reference them all the time in my college classes and periodically think about the bizarre choices made by Lewis. Half of it I love, the other half I despise. ![]() Lewis' Space Trilogy, and I am still completely divided on it. I don't know if I'll stick around, but I was just interested in finding a place to discuss Science Fiction as I continue my passion/journey of absorbing the sci-fi canon and becoming a veteran to the genre.
